Hi! Haven't post for weeks already, have been busy with my project lately, got showflat tender and WP submission. In any case i always see July as a long and quite month, partly because there is no Premier league matches to catch only some pre-season friendly matches, speaking of that tomorrow i am going to Kallang stadium to catch Liverpool vs Singapore. I might not be a Liverpool fan, but i still see them as one of the best club in the world, so it is still worth the money to catch them in 'live' action. I am aware they don't come here very often, the last trip they came to Singapore was back in July 2001. Wa! so long ago.

Nice to see my new favourite Man U player Michael Owen scored in his first two games for Man U, hope he can make an impact in the coming new season starting 15th Aug 2009. Cheers!!

Last but not least was my Commencement day in 13th July 2009, it was one of the happiest day of my life which i will never forget those wonderful moments. I have never thought that i will graduated from NUS let alone being a student there. I am really thankful to NUS SDE for opening night classes to allow full-time workers like me to have a chance to upgrade ourselves, if not this special day will never happen. Now my next decision is to decide what am i going to do, i really fancy to do something new, shall see what will happen in the next few weeks. =)

Farewell to my friendly neighbour

Yesterday was my colleague Miss Debora last day in DP, she has been sitting next to me for the past 2 years, she is a friendly person and also good in doing work, all of us will surely miss her alot. She is going for further studies doing a Master in Business in Australia, wish her all the best and success in her new career. Cheers!!! =)

An Arc Condominium

This building has an interesting design to the facade, it has an arc shape at the top part of the building. I have never seen such a unique design before. I will give it an A grade...haha! The building name is called The Arc at Draycott, designed by ADDP Architects and is located at Draycott drive, Orchard road somewhere behind Shaw House.

Wow...a brand new dynamic shopping mall in Orchard road had caught my attention, the building facade has tall vertical changeble colour lightings..yes! i am refering to the Orchard Central, a project designed by my company. I haven't visit the shopping mall yet, heard it is a new shopping experience, all the shops are cluster together. I guess there will be more shopping mall of such attractive lighting facade design coming along like the Iluma at Bugis, 313 @ Somerset as well as the ION Orchard...Cool!

Still a fantastic season for Manchester United

Manchester United didn't manage to win the Champions league title for two consecutive year, last night they were outclassed by Barcelona 2-0, the current Spanish champion deserved to win the trophy, they were the better team last night. Even Sir Alex Ferguson and some of the Man U players also praise Barcelona brilliant display.

Well, even i think so too, however, i am not totally disappointed because Manchester United still have a good season, looking on the bright side of United's epic campaign, despite losing a European Cup final for the first time. This season the Reds have won four trophies - Barclays Premier League, Club World Cup, Carling Cup and Community Shield - and almost won three others - the Super Cup, FA Cup and Champions League. Hence, it is still a fantastic season when you consider what they have achieved this year – including their third Premier league title on the trot. So i hope all Man U fans should still feel proud and happy with all the achievement. Hope they will get stronger and pursuit more glory next season. =)

EPL 2008/2009 Champions

Yesss....Manchester United were crowned champions of England for a record-equalling 18th time at Old Trafford after a goalless draw with Arsenal ensured Liverpool cannot now catch their north-west rivals. This was their 11th Premier League title in 17 leagues since its inception in 1992 and were all won under the club manager Sir Alex Ferguson. This is also their second time they won the league for three successive season.
What an achievement for this fantastic club.

Now they can all focus on the final showdown with the Spanish Champion Barcelona for the Uefa Champions league at Rome on 27 May 2009. All the best to Man U. Cheers! =)

Singapore Courtesy Campaign (Kindness..Bring it on!)

These pictures were taken near Fort Canning along Hill Street, i find these Singa mascots very eye catching, cute and funny. Obviously it is all about the Singapore Courtesy Campaign, this time each individual Singa holds a meaningful slogan to raise people's awareness of the need to be courteous and considerate in various social situations. I think our local Courtesy Campaign had started as early as 1980, i still remember clearly my sister once had a Singa puppet when she was very young...HaHa!

Anyway, it is good to see such Campaign still keep going on and pass on to the next generation. =)

My favourite weekend hang out place

I have discover my new favourite hang out spot for weekend soccer match and it is at CHIJMES. This place is a church, but it also have other activities such as shop and restaurant. Weekend is always a favourite spot for many visitors to have dinner over here and mostly are foreigners, another attraction is because they provide 'live' telecast of EPL matches on big screen. I like to dropby here to watch soccer match too, most of the time is because i have to work over the weekend and have no time to rush home to catch the 'live' match. Over here there are many fans cheering or booing the team at the same time, hence, the atmosphere is quite good and i enjoy it. haha!

Rome, here we come!

Manchester United will go to Rome to defend their Champions League trophy after beating Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates stadium and 4-1 on overall aggregate. Yeah!!!

Man U clearly dominated the game and by 60th min they were 3-0 up, Darren Fletcher red card was too harsh and allowed Arsenal to score a consolation goal through penalty. Even Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger also insisted the red card was very harsh after television pictures clearly showed Fletcher played the ball cleanly.

Now awaits either Chelsea or Barcelona. Hope is Chelsea...give them a chance to revenge...HAHA!!!

Bread Vending Machine

Wow...even Gardenia bread also come in vending machine liao..that's cool. This picture was taken under my flat communal space. I think the vending machine serve a good idea for those who has forgotten to buy bread when they are on the way home or come home very late. But i do hope they will change the bread everyday to ensure it is fresh.

Exams is coming, this saturday got one and the next will be on 8th of May. Only two papers and both are quite far apart. =)

Today is our last lesson of the semester and is also our last lesson in NUS, 4years of studies finally come to an end, now just wait for the exams to come. Now recall back, 4 years of part-time studies was tough and tiring, but at the same time, time also flies very fast, i cannot believe 4 years like that passby liao. I can still remember my 1st lesson was about visualisation of some images. From year 1 to year 3 we almost have every sem 5 modules to clear...siong ah!..ZZZzz

Over the years there are some modules i like and dislike, i really don't like the Introduction in statistic, don't understand what the lecturer was talking about and i got a D grade for that module, shame on me. The second nightmare module for me was the Building Structure, i can hardly figured out the calculations and all the bending and turning moments (very physic), lucky i got my classmate Roslan to help me and i got a C grade, very satisfy lo. I like the Project management module, but i didn't score well for that module, i got a B only. I also enjoy the Singapore Studies module, the two tutorials were very meaningful to me and i am quite happy with my writing, I got a B+ for that module.

Over the years i have met and made good friends with my own part time classmates, Simon, JinJin, Minfen, John, Mavis, James, Roslan and Naz, all these people are very fantastic. Is really nice to work with them, sharing info and of course some complains..haha! There was hardly any friction among us, except a minority which i won't mention here. =) I want to say a big thank you to you guys for all these years of our hardship pursuing our dream and the degree...its really nice to work and do projects with you guys.

A degree can have alot of meaning to everyone, some see it as an extra education which you won't learn in your work. Some see it as a stepping stone for better career prospect. Some just want to feel secure with a certificate for a rainy day or want to change line.

Nevertheless, whichever is your reason, I wish everybody all the best for the coming exams and have a great career ahead. =)

It's the 29th of march liao...so fast...have been quite busy lately with my assignment. It's a final push to my final semester, in less than a month time will be my examination, this time only left two papers to take. We managed to get our IP project done on time, however, during presentation, we are being criticised by one of the lecturer that we didn't put in enough effort in this project. Haiz...what to expect from us?..We are part-timer mah! Anyway is over liao. I guess i am getting my dissertation final draft back from my supervisor next week, hope not many amendment to do because it is only 3 weeks away from the final submission.

Here are some soccer update. Glad to know that Manchester United will drawn against FC Porto in the 1/4 final of Champions league, it is an easy draw as compare to other teams who have to face tougher opponent. But their league form is not doing well lately, losing two matches in a row and let in six goals, now they only lead 2nd place liverpool by a point, however, Man U still have a game in hand. Hope they quickly get back to form and start winning matches again.

Integrated Project

I am enjoying my semester-break this week and this will be the last semester break of my NUS part-time course. Two weeks ago i have just submitted my final draft dissertation, after that submission i am quite relax and mainly focusing on my Measurement III tutorials. However, vocation is over soon, this coming week will be a stressful week for us, all the Building students will be put to test on what they have learnt throughout the 4 years course by applying the knowledge through an assignment call the Integrated Project. It is a 5 days assignment the question will post to us in IVLE on monday morning and by friday afternoon we need to submit the report. Time is very tight and constraint for us i really hope everything can go smoothly.

Man U set new English football record for clean sheets

My favourite Man U player Edwin Van Der Sar has created a new record in English Football last saturday. The goalkeeper had gone 12 matches without concealed a single goal, of course, the keeper cannot claim all the credits, the defenders and the rest of the team members also made important efforts to help to preserve this unbeaten record. The last goal concealed was against Arsenal in 8th Nov 2008 which Man U lost 2-1 to Arsenal. After that the Man U goalkeeper had not went to pick a ball out from his goal net. The 12 matches including tough opponents such as Chelsea, Aston Villa, Everton and Tottenham Hotspurs.

With 15matches left, hope there are more clean sheets to comeby and remain unbeaten till the end of the season. =)

2days ago i went to Bugis Junction to do my last min shopping and i managed to capture some nice photos of the Illuma Urban Entertainment Centre, a new shopping mall just next to Bugis. The facade of the building is very interesting. From my understanding from Woha Architect website, the building incorporates an interactive façade, where visitors can use mobile phone technology to send messages, images and graphics onto the building, an electronic version of the concrete and glass pixels of the Duxton Plains façade, and i able to see flower graphics and chinese new year wishes in mandrain characters. Wow...amazing!!!

Cool Bus

Recently i board a bus (no 80) and the interior design of the bus caught me by surprise, it is like a build-in bar inside the bus and the arrangement of the seats is totally different from a normal bus. Amazing!!!

I am not sure whether you have seen this before, but it is something new to me, however, i think the design has taken away more seating capacity and some might even find it difficult to stand beside the seat with the passengers, hence, I believe this is the only bus with such a design.

Maybe SBS can try one with wooden bench just like those buses in the 50s and 60s, so that this can let the new generation to try out how it feel to sit on the bus without cushion...haha!

Today i went to celebrate my friend's daughter 1 year old birthday, her name is Schuen, and i find this little girl very cute. It have been almost a year since i last saw her when she was only 1 month old. Me and my friend brought a tricycle and a mini mouse softtoy for her birthday present. I also take this opportunity to meet up some old friends at his house, it is good to see all of them. Sometime it is really difficult for me to try meet up with them, with my busy work and my part-time studies, hence, whenever there is a such an occassion i will try to turn up.

Hello ! Happy New Year !!! so fast this is the 9th year of the new millennium, still remember clearly when people were talking about Y2K and some outbreak of some kind of computer virus that could damage many systems, some even predict it was the end of the world..etc..haha. Well..8 years had gone by what have you achieved or done so far? I love to recall some fond memories of my life..well since this is the year 2009 let me try to recall what had happened to me in 1999, 1989 & 1979.

1999 - I was a 22 year old young man...but too old for national service and i haven't served during that age..haha. During that year I was still in my 2nd year Polytechnic course. In May/June 1999 i went for my 2nd attachment course to one of the lighting consultant company where i met 3 new friends from Temasek Poly and we have fun working together during those short duration. My time during my poly course look very short, probably because we always rush for submission that was why time passed by so fast. Oh! of course my beloved Manchester United completed the treble by winning the league title, FA Cup and the European Cup.

1989 - I was a 12 year old boy studied in the extended stream (6E2..I still rem) haiz..if not i will be taking my PSLE le...i was very playful, don't really want to study hard..almost everyday after school i went cycling or shopped at our neighbourhood shopping centre with my friends (last time don't have big shopping mall like Jurong point, Tampines mall or Lot One hor!) sometime we brought some tibits and sat under the void-deck stone chair and chat until late evening. Sometime we even went to catch some movies at Savoy cinema (now the building become a kopitiam liao..=( ), during those days each ticket only sold at $3.50 or $4.00...so cheap! that's why i could afford...haha! Actually many things happened during that year, we had our very 1st identity card and also kena by the infamous injection known as BCG (am i right?)..haha!!

1979 - I was only a 2 year old kid, err..can't really remember anything..the only thing i remember was i have a playmate and it was only when i am about 3-4 years old then i knew that the playmate was actually my own brother...haha!..so slow.

Well..just sharing some little history of my life...hope year 2009 will bring me more fun and joy...and hope you also have a wonderful year! =)

Final day of year 2008

Today is the last day of year 2008, have been quite a busy month for me ever since i came back from my exams leave.

We have a few projects rushing to catch the deadline for planter box/baywindow GFA exemption, my team leader has been chasing at us to get the submission in ASAP. Everyday has to listen to his nagging. One by one we managed to get the job done. =)

While busy for our work we also have sometime for our year end Christmas party at our Studio 2/3, this year our office wanted to bring more joy to the children from Child@street11 ,which is our office adopted charity, by giving them some Christmas presents. There a wishing list from the children and we can choose which gift we want to give. I choose to give a toy jet plane to a six year old boy. =)

This year our exam results seem to release quite early...haiz..i din do well at all.. i got all 3 B-, however, i am happy to see that my Cap points is improving bit by bit..but mathematically i have no chance of getting a 3rd class le...hope to finish off my final sem with better results next year. =)

Our company has announced that we will get our paycut in march 2009, hopefully that can help to sustain our company expenses for one whole year and hope that the economic can recover fast in later 2009.

I hereby wish everyone a wonderful year ahead and hope the days in 2009 is filled with things that mean the most to you!!!

Wa! How can one month passed so fast...? I thought i last posted was 2 weeks ago..so fast december liao!
Okie..okie...three things i want to say...first of all, my exams is finally over, i took 3 papers this semester, all open book exam, which is good, don't need to memories. Secondly, is back to work tomorrow, after 2 weeks 'break' i really don't feel like going back to work, these 2 weeks although i didn't enjoy myself (cos studying) but at least i don't need to wake up so early and can sleep till i want to wake up..so good! Lastly, thanks goodness this month alot of holiday to look forward. =)

OMG...2 months + din post anything liao...time flies too fast. I am too busy with my work, assignment and draft dissertation. Two weeks later even have a class test for one of my module, after that will soon be examinations. Stress...

I have been taking leave on every friday of October to try doing my dissertation, but most of the time found myself doing other projects which the deadline is so near, so until now my dissertation only done 30%..very jialat. Must quickly do liao.

Economic is bad now, we are in recession,heard my company is trying to cut down manpower by getting majority of the staffs to do a cad drawing test, your test will be assess by the softwear company (Bentley), pass or fail will be notify by your director, then you will know your fate liao. Scary? Haha.

I heard it all started from our IR project kena complained that the drawings are terrible and no standard, this has upset our CEO, hence, i believe he wanted to do such a test to eliminate those who can't draw properly, indirectly i think they are also trying to get rid of some staffs lah. To me a staff is good or not cannot be judge just by its speed of drawing, whether he is hardworking or not is also important. Since the problem came from the IR side why don't they just test those group of people?

Gold or Silver Olympic medal for Singapore

Wow…History has been made, a moment which will be remembered by many Singaporeans at least for the next 4 years from now. Singapore wins its first Olympic medal in 48 years on 15th August 2008 when the women's table tennis team made it into the final of the team event by beating South Korea 3-2. It has been a long wait for Singapore since our weightlifter Tan Howe Liang won the only silver medal for Singapore's at the 1960 Rome Olympics.

I must say they are the first Olympic medal winners since Singapore independence in 1965.

Today Feng Tianwei was the heroine. She gave Singapore a good start by winning the 1st set and secured Singapore the final spot by winning the crucial 5th set.

Singapore will face China in the final on Sunday. It is either a gold or a silver medal for Singapore, although most people will think China will win, but we will keep our fingers cross, because anything can happen when it comes to a final match.

Well done to the women's table tennis team…you have done us proud! =)

Community Shield 2008

Manchester United won the 2008 community shield last night, the match featured last season league champion’s Manchester United against the FA cup winner’s Portsmouth. It was the repeat of the FA cup semi-final fixture between these two teams, which Man U lost at home by 1-0. Last night match was not very exciting; both sides have equalled chances to score.

The match ended 0-0 draw and had to settle by a penalty shoot-out which Man U won 3-1 on penalties to cling the trophy for the 2nd consecutive year. It was also a sweet revenge. Man U’s Tevez, Giggs and Carrick all successfully converted their spot-kick, Defoe scored the only goal for Portsmouth, his teammates had missed two and one was saved by the veteran Edwin Van Der Sar, the hero who had made 3 clean saved (3-0) also from a penalty shootout in this community shield against Chelsea last year and again made the crucial saved from Chelsea’s Nicholas Anelka to win Man U the Champions League last May in Moscow.

Hope this is a good start for Man U and hope they will win all the competitions along the way throughout this season. Cheers!!! =)

080808...Special Date Special Day

Today is a special day…8th August 2008…080808…too many Chinese it is an auspicious day because of the Triple ‘8’ digit…hahaha.
Well, I think to many people to be able to see this date is really special, because the next 080808 will be 100 years later in year 2108. In fact this is the 2nd time in my life so far to see such a special day, 20 years ago, I remember the date 080888, which was even more special. =)

Here are something to remember in this special date.

1) Heehee..Its friday..weekend mood..and also National Day eve.
2) Beijing Olympic finally begin, today is the opening ceremony.
3) This is the most important one..Singapore pools give a TOTO
jackpot of big prize of 8 million+..Wow!!! 9 of my team members
each contributed $10 to share buy the ‘hopefully can win
tickets’..wish us good luck and make this day even more special to
remember...haha! =)

National Museum Light Festival

HiHi..See these pictures!!! This is not done by photoshop…Okok..I know it can be done, but my photoshop skill is not up to that level yet, anyway, if I know how to do it, I would have decorate it with Manchester United logo, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool..the list goes on..haha!

These pictures were taken by my director last week when he went to the National Museum light festival. Later that night, I took bus 190 which had passed by the place and so lucky that the bus stopped at a long traffic and the nice spot enable me to witness this amazing light changing design on the building façade. Altogether I saw three different designs; the changing interval was about 30 sec…I think so.

I have never seen such an amazing thing before, there were a few big light boxes located at different areas, I believe this was where the graphics were being thrown out onto the building, but how it can be done so accurately and fitted nicely on each column and cornices is really amazing. I don’t know how it was being done. Anyway, I really appreciate this masterpiece of art-lighting graphic design. :)

Heartfelt Farewell to my close friend and teammates

Today is an emotional day to me cos today is my close friend Zairi last day at DP, he is also my polyclassmate, we joined the company the same year and it was our 1st job also. 1 month ago I was very surprised to hear that he was leaving, i think probably due to work stress or maybe he just want to change a new working environment. To many of us in DP he was a very diligent worker, he knows the authorites codes and submission very well, everytime many people came up to him for some authorites issues, including me..haha. His departure will be a great loss to the authority team. In fact my boss had already approached him and tell him to join our team if he decides to return to DP, through this we can tell that he is a capable worker even my director also admired him. Well, i know where he is going, but i won't disclose here in my blog. I wish him all the best and hope he will settledown fast in his new workplace...and hopefully he will come back to us very soon. =)

Coincidentally, two of my teammates will also be leaving us tommorrow, Maggie and Iskandar Toha, they have been with us for 1 year, both are also very hardworking staffs, today our team have a farewell party for them at the design bay. All of us had wrote down our best wishes in the farewell cards, we wish them good luck and success in their future. =)

Olympic 2008 is coming

The Olympic is coming soon, I think is about 14-15 days away, just like World Cup this world sport event is held once every 4 years, I don’t think I am able to catch all the games, but there are a few which I will try to watch and it is also my favourite, such as basketball, athletics, gymnastics, swimming, soccer and the synchronise swimming, I like to watch their lively and graceful routine and I find it amazing to do those routine in the water..cool !!!

I have try to find some Olympic logo from 1976 to 2008, among all these logo, I still find the 1992 version the best, maybe I like thing that are simple. The 2nd is the 1984 version, I still remembered I had a soft toy of that mascot, 3rd will go to the 1996 version. What is yours? =)

Spain the European Champion

Oops..my prediction is wrong...hahaha...

Spain is the Euro 2008 winner...Congratulations to them...they are the most consistence team and have remain unbeaten throughout this tournament. They deserve to win and they are the 1st team to win the new trophy, it is the same design but the size is larger than the past.

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres was the hero last night as he fired Spain to their 2nd European Championship since 1964.

The tournament had finally ended after 3 intense weeks of non-stop football action. Have to wait for another 4 years, this time will be another two countries co-hosting the tournament, Ukraine and Poland. Hope they can do better than Switzerland and Austria and hope this time England won't miss out on this tournament again. :)

Euro 2008 Final: Germany will win.

Tomorrow morning is the Euro 2008 final; I predict that Germany will be the winner. In fact it is a close call between them and Spain, whom have performed very well and have stay unbeaten so far.
Whenever I can’t decide who the winner is, I always like to look at some history to come out with a ‘formula’ to predict the winner. So why do I think that Germany will win?
I have two explanations:

Exception in the 1960s, Germany had gone on to win the tournament once in every decade; they won it in 1972 in the 70s, in 1980 in the 80s and in 1996 in the 90s. Euro 2008 will be the last for this decade; hence, I believe Germany should win.

Another scenario I have notice is beside the 1972 victory, whenever Germany had won the tournament, the defending champion for that tournament was an underdog team. In 1980, the defending champion was Czechoslovakia. In 1996, the defending champion was Denmark. In this tournament the defending champion was also an underdog team which is Greece, hence, this seem like it is going to favour Germany again.

Well, it’s just my anyhow figure-out prediction not guarantee…but I do hope that my prediction is right. We shall see…haha!

My 2nd Home

Today let me introduce to you my 2nd home..that is my office..Yess !!! A place which I have to spend nearly 9hrs or more from monday to friday and sometime even during the weekend. I don't really like my work, but i like my workspace, that is why i have this thinking...that is to make a nice working environment to make you feel like going to work..clever?...ok..i know it sound 'bo liao'..haha!..nevermind.

Over the years i have always try to decorate my workspace with pictures and toys that i like. Some I have retained for many years, because i really like them, for example my EPL coin box trophy, which filled with only 20 cent coins and its already nearly 4years. Another favourite is the IQ Professor and Arale which is a wind-up toy. My all time favourite is the lego version Ernie (somewhere below the computer screen). Recently just got a new one, which is a bear in Mr Fantastic Four version, i also added a wrestling belt to it...haha. All these toys have accompany me everyday during my stressful work. Other pictures are for me to look at to release stress... :)

Netherlands crushed out in Euro 2008

were eaten up by the thirsty Russian...

Netherlands were out of the Euro 2008 tournament after they lost to an in-form Russia, 3-1 after extra-time whom played very well this morning during their 1/4 finals encounter. The dutch players suddenly dropped their superb performance during the last 3 matches, they seem having difficulties in creating chances to score and their defence was very porous, many time in the match, the russians were able to make easy shooting chances inside the dutch's penalty area, if not because of the great holland goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar, who pulled of string of good saves, the match would had be ended in normal time.

Beside England, Holland is another team i like, they have always been my favourite since 1990. Every major tournament, the squad was always looked very strong and promising, but they always fall the hurdles during the knock-out stage, the best achievement they had so far was semi-final place in World Cup 98 and Euro 2000 and 2004. This year their squad is the strongest since World Cup 98, i thought they really have a good chance to win this tournament which they did 20 years ago, but too bad, they were out-played by the Russian who lead by the brillant dutchman Guus Hiddink.

Well, not much to look foward now, the tournament left only Germany, Turkey (Zzz...zz), Russia, Spain or Italy. I hope Spain will win Euro 2008...Good Luck to them.. :)

Hi...i am getting more & more lazy to post my blog. I have many to write, i guess maybe i am just too lazy to write...haha.

I last posted my blog in April, that was way before my exams, & Manchester United was still chasing for the EPL tiltle and the champion leagues crown. Nearly 2 months have past, i have passed my exams and Man U had won the double. :)

My colleague Jane is out on a long medical leaves for a month, due to nose infection that she had to do an operation. Wish her a speedy recovery.

Last sunday my friend Zairi got married, wish him and his wife stay loving & blessing forever.

Now is my school holiday, i know i should start preparing for my dissertation, but i just want to relax abit first especially this month there is a EURO 2008...heeheehee! The tournament is still in the group stage, the 1/4 finals will start on thursday morning.

So far the tournament is quite exciting, there are some shocking results as well as some fantastic results, especially from my favourite team Netherlands, they had beaten Italy 3-0 and France 4-1, and they have top the group with a game to spare, if not wrong, their 1/4 final opponent is likely to be Russia lead by the former Netherlands coach Guus Hiddink.

Co-host Switzerland is out of the tournament after losing the 1st two matches, joining them is defending champion Greece. Last Night Spain also joined Portugal, Croatia and Netherlands into the 1/4 finals, there are 4 spots left, likely to be Romania, Russia, Czech Rep and Germany.

OMG...Got 3 months + din post liao. So busy...time past so fast...Mth of May is coming soon. So many things have happen for the past 3 months...

In Feb, after submitted my URA submission, 3 days later client called to ask for a change of layout plan...ahhhh!!....stupid Kim Seng Plaza project keep changing layout plan, till now still haven't finallise with the design, fyi, there are about 50-80 options already (No Joke!!!)

In March , 3 friends got married...Siddiq, Jian Ming and Victor. Congratulations to them. :)

In April, busy with my school project and assignment, especially my Singapore Studies assignment 2, i am writing on Bishan Library, it is a very unique design building. Now i am busy studying for my exams, look forward for the long school holiday and Euro 2008 in June.

Lastly, update you on my Manchester United, In league, they are currently 1st, 3 point ahead of Chelsea, they will meet this weekend, a win over Chelsea will almost 100% successfully retain the EPL title, provided they don't slip-up against West Ham or Wigan. Man U is also in the semi-final of the UEFA Champion league, they will face Barcelona, hope they can make it to the final at Moscow to face either Chelsea or Liverpool, hopefully they can do a Double by winning both the EPL and Champion league. Happy New Year !!!...So fast another brand new year has arrived. Hope many great things going to happen...haha! Well, the 1st thing happen is our team got another new project near Lakeside MRT and i heard rumour 1 more coming at Thompson road..''fainted''...so many new projects, currently we already got 3 new projects and 1 A&A to handle.

Well, there are 3 things i am looking forward, First, is to take a ride at the Singapore Flyer this coming March, Secondly, is to watch EURO 2008 in June, Holland is the team i will support. =) Lastly, can't wait to reach my final year of my part time studies at NUS this coming August.

I wish all my friends & colleagues good health & success in year 2008.

Merry Christmas !!! The time of festive holiday has finally arrived, so much christmas shopping to be done, giving presents and sending christmas cards to friends.

My office is so generous that they gave us a day-off on both the eve of christmas and New year, hence, this make the work week shorter, anyway nobody is in the mood of working..haha!

This christmas i won't be clowning around like those youngster in the pub or disco..old already lah! my body too stiff to shake.. haha! We will go for a christmas dinner and watch a movie..and exchange gift. =)

Luckily English soccer don't have winter break, hence, there are still many 'Live' EPL matches to catch over the holiday season, notably Boxing day and the coming weekend. =)

DPA Christmas party...=)

Yesterday was our company christmas party held at studio 2 which is our new office near Marina cineplex. It is my first visit to the new office, the place is very nice, spacious, with white ceiling, and the M&E duct also white in colour, the office look clean and comfortable. The thermal comfort is very good. It is a nice working environment.

Many people turned up for the event, currently the staffs strength is 520..WOW!
The chairman and CEO made some speeches as well as our philpino collegues sang us some christmas songs.
This year the door-gift is the best gift i have ever received, it is a 410 pages book, featuring all the DPA projects from 1967 - 2007. It is a nice book with pictures and write-up of the projects as well as the profile of all the directors and Associate directors.

Beside the gift, we also have a nice buffer, good food and drink..oh..also a new DPA polo T-shirt.
If the event were to be held nearer to christmas i think will be much better, i guess it is because too many staffs will be taking leave in the next 2 weeks that is why they bring forward the event.

Nevertheless, it is a wonderful event hope next year will be a better 1 as well. cheers !!! =)

Wa...So fast...is December liao! i believe this is the month which everyone is looking forward..haha, but i still can't enjoy myself because i have 1 more exam paper to go on next wednesday, after that is a self-declare hoilday for me. =)

So far i think i did fairly for my exams only, because due to poor time management when doing my exams, got 1-2 questions i have left only a few mins to do...rush like mad. Hope i can learn from this and manage my time properly for my next paper and future exams.

As usual here are some sport news update from me...haha :)

1) ENGLAND didn't qualify for EURO 2008. SHOCKING !!!! 1st time missed out on major tournament since World Cup 1994. =(

2) Manchester United ended their 10 EPL matches unbeaten streaks last weekend against Bolton, they lost 1-0. =(

3) SINGAPORE made it to the 3rd round of World Cup Asia-qualifying round for the 1st time. They are among the top 20 Asian countries. Cheers!!! =)

Manchester United have picked up their 7 wins of the season after beating Aston Villa 4-1. Cheers!
They are only 2 points behind leader Arsenal.

But England are in trouble in Euro 2008 qualifier, after they lost 2-1 to Russia, their fate of reaching Euro 2008 is not in their hand, England badly need Israel to do them a BIG BIG favour by at least hold Russia to a draw. If Russia go on to beat Andorra and Israel, England will not qualify for Euro 2008. The outcome is unthinkable. No England in major tournament?..OMG. England last missed out on a major tournament was back in World Cup 1994. Hope it won't happen.

4th October 2000, today in 7 years ago i was enlisted to serve my 2 years & 4 months National Service. This date will never be forgotten, because it was the most low-morale day of my entire life. I still remember i woke up at 6:30am, in fact i didn't sleep well that night. All my family members accompany me to Pulau Tekong, the journey seem very long to me, along the way they kept telling me to takecare of myself, be careful and alert.

I never enjoyed a single day during BMT, everyday got scolding and punishment whether right or wrong. Luckily i was being posted out to unit in Singapore after my BMT. At least you feel more at home in Singapore.

Time flies so fast, 7 years had passed, however, all those NS days and my buddies i can still remember it clearly.

England qualifying for Euro 2008 is now back on track again after their 2 impressive victories over Israel and Russia, which England won both matches with a 3-0 scoreline at Wembley Stadium.

Micheal Owen was the man of the match for both games, he scored 1 goal against Israel and 2 goals against Russia, which added his goals tally for England to a 40 goals mark, which was an impressive achievement.

Gareth Barry, Shaun Wright Philips, and Emile Heskey had also played well for both the games, which gave England manager a headache whether to stick to these players or to replace them with Frank Lampard, David Beckham and Wayne Rooney when they are back from injuries for next month crucial match against Russia (away) and Croatia (home).

England currently is 2nd on the table, 3 points behind leader's Croatia, a victory over Croatia can see them goes to the top of the table. Russia is 3rd place with just 2 points behind England, their next home match against England is very important, with only 3 qualifying matches remain for group E, only the top 2 teams will qualify for Euro 2008, Croatia, England, Russia and Israel all still stand a chance to qualify. So the race is still on and is going to be very tight for these teams.

Hope England will wins their remaining fixtures and qualify for Euro 2008. =)

HiHi..is September already...time flies.

I have been busy with my work these days, it is already the 4th week of my semester. I have received most of the tutorials and assignments from all my modules.
Start to get more and more busy very soon.

Anyway, life goes on, there was a special function happen to my company 3 days ago, we had a DP's staffs photo session, we took pictures outside Marina Square and also inside the Esplanade.
Approximately 500+ staffs gather together to take photos...Wow so exciting! =)

Manchester United finally got a victory in this new EPL season after a disapointing start of 2 draws & 1 lost. To add further embarrasment before yesterday match started, Man U was in the relegation zone at 19th position. Now they are 10th in the table. Hopefully they will climb up to the top soon.

The winning goal came from new signing's Nani who scored a beautiful goal outside the penalty's box. Next match is against Sunderland at the stadium of light. Hope they can pick up their 2nd win.

Hi...nearly 2 weeks din post...abit lazy...haha!

Firstly, school started already, this time we are having 3 modules with the full-time students
1 module with Real Estate 4th year students & 1 elective module with some students from other faculty. Finally our class look more like a class, with more students, in the past our lessons were mostly conducted in small classes with only 12 students.

Secondly, My fav team's Manchester United had kicked-off their worst start of the season since the Premier league was formed in 1992. 2 draws & 1 lost was a shocking results. But i have faith in them & i believe they will bounce back fast starting from this week...with a victory over Tottenham Hotspur... =)

Dinner at Upper Boon Keng

Today I went to have dinner at upper boon keng with Siddiq, Hasanah, Fransiska, Zong Han, Zairi and his gf. We ate mutton soup, chicken satay, malay food and nasi goreng...yum yum!

We have a nice dinner, having fun and share some jokes, especially Zairi, the joker of the night...haha! They are aware that i am going to attend my evening part time course from next week, so they specially arrange this dinner for me, so nice of them..so touching..Thank You guys...You are wonderful. =)

Manchester United's dutch goal keeper Edwin Van der SAR became the hero on last sunday Community Shield against Chelsea, he made 3 consecutive penalty saves and Man Utd won the game 3-0 in the penalty-shootout.

Yess...August is finally here, got a public holiday to look forward, i guess most people will want to take leave on friday as well so it will be a long weekend for them. I am consider that too...haha!

School is going to open soon, ahhh..3 months of school break so fast over liao. I will be in year 3. As usual 5 modules and have to go to school from monday to friday, so tiring anyway i am use to it le. But this sem there will only be 4 exams papers to take so i guess can concentrate better. =)

As for my work, always busy lah!...haha

Next week EPL season is coming back, Wa! can't wait to watch those soccer matches during weekend. A number of clubs are buying good players to strengthen their teams, so the competition is more intense to make the EPL more exciting.
My prediction: Manchester United will retain their EPL title. =)

Today i was shifted to a new seat, finally got a chance to sit next to a gal..haha =)
The location of the seat is away from my boss and shield from the corridor where all the directors and big bosses walk around.

Just as i thought it was so good that i can even do my MSN during work, however, i received a bad news that the office is trying to install CCTV at every bay. We will be watched at most time by the adminstrators. Ahhh! Siao bo! They think we are working in the bank huh? =(

July is such a long and dry month, still got 13 days to go. School also going to start soon, on 13th August, haiz...3 months of 'school holiday' going to end liao. =(

Today just know that 1 of our colleague is leaving us by end of this month. He is with us for 1 year, due to personal reason he choose to quit. Anyway, wish him all the best in his future. =)

As usual lah!..busy schedule awaits me. This friday got a DC submission to submit, is 1 of our new project at Toh Tuck road, Good LuckView is the project name. HaHa!..sound so old fashion and tradition.

My workloads are getting heavier & heavier, my boss told me we are getting 4 new projects plus the current Trillium project added up to a total of 5 projects. Siao liao lah...so many authorites submission & construction drawings need to do.

Our project team are recruiting more menpower, last monday got a new guy coming to our team, he will be here for 6months. Today a new gal joined us too, her name is Mary Jean from Philippines, both of them will be helping me doing the technical stuffs, on 23rd July another new gal graduate from NUS is also coming in to assist us.

So many new faces..as a veteran got to take care of them...haha :)

I went to watch the movie yesterday...it is an exciting and amazing 2hrs+ movie and is worth watching. I give them 2 thumbs up!

The Autobots are really fantastic especially the Optimus Prime, he is the best in this show. :)

Today is the movie's Transformers 1st day showing in local cinemas. Ok ok! if you are one of them who haven't watch the show..just like me, i would like to run through some of the heros from the Autobot that you will be seeing in this show, and also showing the different between themselve in the movie to the cartoon shown back in the 80s.

If you are one of the transformers craze like me back in the 80s, you can obviously tell that some of the Autobots in the movie when transform into a vehicles, they are different from the original cartoon character. Bumblebee is not the beetle-car we have known all the while although it still remain in yellow colour. Ratchet has also changed from an Ambulance to a 4 Wheels Drive, One of my favourite the Iron-hide has also changed from a red-van to a Jeep. Only Jazz remains as a sport car, and of course the leader, Optimus Prime still transform into a truck. :)

Nevertheless, hope that this will be a great and exciting movie. Can't wait to watch over this weekend. :)

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Today i went to watch the Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer at my hometown's cinema, Lot 1. This movie is better than part 1, mainly because of there are 2 villains this time, Dr Doom and the mystery Silver Surfer.

In fact , I don't really think that the Silver Surfer is an overall bad guy in this movie, he was just on a mission to destroy the earth, but later in the movie he did help the fantastic 4 and also saved the earth from destruction. The villain is still the evil Dr Doom.

The movie is more exciting this time, I like the part when the Human Torch was chasing after the Silver Surfer...cool man!

Nokia Handphone

I was chatting with my friend regarding the new Nokia Hp model N76, the design is very nice & unique and is also very expensive...haha..even if you sign up a 2yrs plan it still cost you $538.

To me i don't think i will spend so much money on a handphone, its not necessary. I am currently using N70, guess what?..so far i only use it to make phone call, sms & sometime listen to FM radio & take pictures, thats all. I brought it at $298 after signing a 2yrs plan. Worth or not?...i am also confuse.

I have carry hp for 7yrs already, so far only have 4 sets, 3 from Nokia & 1 from Sony Ericsson, so far i still prefer Nokia brand, & my favourite is still the retro model 8310. Haha...Hey! if i am not wrong it was the 1st hp equipped with FM radio and also the last black & white hp model. :)

My Intercontinental Championship belt :)

Yesterday i went to Queensway shopping centre to do some shopping and i happen to see this wrestling belt in one of the shop selling toys & action figures and i brought it.

If you are one of those wrestling fan from the late 80s to 90s you will probably know this belt. Yes! It is the Intercontinental championship belt, a few of my favourite wrestlers like the Ultimate Warrior, Bret Hitman Hart and Mr Perfect had also won this title belt before.

Although the biggest prize in the WWE is the World Heavyweight Champion, the Intercontinental belt is more like a second prize championship title, but i still like this belt, maybe because i always like to be 2nd not 1st..heehee (humble)! I like the name, because it sound so special. I also like the design, which is simple & nice. However, in 1999, the WWE has changed the design of this belt, the new 'look' is quite similar, except shape of the globe has changed from round to oval, but i still prefer the classic version.

I remembered i even tried to make a miniature one before, by drawing on a white paper, coloured it with a gold marker and paste it on a card-board..haha! so silly. Now i finally got a more 'real' look-alike belt (slightly smaller than the real one) and is kept in my display cabinet. :)

I drew up as a wrestling fan, although it is not real, it is more on entertainment, but i enjoyed watching these brave men doing all those dangerous stunt, manoeuvre and acting. However, i have cut down watching wrestling ever since i started to work and doing my part-time course, but i still visit the web-site & catch the latest news & happening.

2007 NBA Champion: San Antonio Spurs

Hello! Get tired of my soccer news?..ok lah! make some changes. The 2007 NBA finals has comes to an end yesterday when San Antonio Spurs swept aside Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0 in aggregate in the best of 7series games. Cheers!!!

It was their 4th championship since 1999 and third in five years. The Spurs joined the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls as the only teams in NBA history to win at least four NBA championship titles.

I like to watch NBA back in the 90s when my favourite player Michael Jordan was still playing for the Chicago Bulls, ever since he retired from NBA i haven't been catching the games anymore, but every year i am still interested to find out which team had won the NBA title.

Few days ago, while doing my mini Singapore sale shopping, i came across this Nike Polo T-shirt, this shirt is so special to me that it made me wanted to buy without a 2nd thought. At the back of the shirt printed a neon light letterings ''NIKE 84''....it is the number 84 that attracts me.

1984, was one of my favourite year. Many things have got to do with this special year.

1) I was primary 1 and i met 1 of my best friend on that day till now..wow..is 23 years of friendship already.
2) Former NBA star Michael Jordan was signed up by the Chicago Bull.
3) France won the European Championship.
4) Former WWE Superstar Hulk Hogan won his 1st WWE World Heavy weight champion in Jan 1984.
5) My 2 good friends, Ailing & Juliana was born in that year...heehee. :)

Today i brought a Michael McDonald 's greatest hit collection CD, I like one of the song inside, 'Sweet Freedom', is a very nice song, happy tune, which pretty suit people like me who is still single with lots of freedom...haha!

Well, inside this CD still got other nice love songs which can also be heard from Gold 90.5 FM, 1 of my favourite music station.

I am planning to get another CD from Sir Cliff Richards, his love songs are good too. However, i am quite disappointed that till now i still can't find this song 'wish we were hero' from Melissa Manchester, if you know this song, you will agree with me that it is a nice sad love song.

Today chatting with a friend through MSN, find out that she is still single. She is 23 and is not eager to find a boyfriend. I asked her don't you think is a waste of youth? Haiz...don't be like me, can't find a girlfriend through out my 20s (20-29).

Now think back really feel regret, you see, you only get to live those 20s age once in your life time, once is over is gone, you can't turn back the clock. Year after year very fast 1, now i am 30 year old le, getting harder to find a suitable one. Same or near your age 1 mostly attached liao...wanna find young 1..scare they find you too old...haha

Yes!!!...England got the result they needed last night with a 3-0 victory over Estonia . Goals from Joe Cole, Peter Crouch and Michael Owen have kept England qualifying for Euro 2008 dream alive.

Although they are still 4th on the table, but they have closed up the gap to 3points behind leader's Croatia.

England need to win the remaining 4 qualifying matches in order to finish top of the table. Next match is against Israel on 8th September 07. cheers! :)

Today my colleague plans to introduce me to a gal from the other team. I know who is she and i know her name too, immediately i told my colleague...''she?..cannot lah!...haha!'' because i think she is too young for me...hmm...maybe i should say i am too old for her lah!...anyway impossible lah!..keke!

In fact, deep in my heart i already got a gal in mind, i like her for a long time, just didn't got that gut & courage to go after her.

Siddiq, i think you know who i am refering to...and i think is about time for me to make the move, as i always tell myself, you never try you never know, don't make yourself feel regret oneday. :)

England have to win tonight Euro 2008 qualifying match against Estonia to keep up with leader's Croatia. They are currently 4th on the table and are 5 points behind Croatia. Fail to beat Estonia will be a disaster and might even face the possibility of failing to qualify for Euro 2008.

England last missed out on a major tournament was back in 1994, when they failed to qualify for the World Cup 94 held in USA.

Hope they can come away with a sweet victory.

This month got many nice movies to watch, just finished watching Spiderman 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean 3...still got Shrek 3, Ocean's 13, Fantastic 4 rise of the Silver Surfer and Transformers waiting for me to watch. :)

and in July, one of my favourite, Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix...HeeHee!

Today is such a busy working day for me. Rushing to get our new project ''Kim Seng Plaza'' Unit layout plan done. It has been changing & revising serveral times, because client didn't like that layout. So i have to spend almost the whole day working on the option plans, even din go for my lunch.. :(

I guess it is due to the standard we have achieved to our Trillium project which is very successful, hence, the same client is expecting to get the same standard or even better scheme. My boss is so stress. Haizz...

Hopefully, our latest revise scheme is able to please the client. :)

England were denied a famous victory over Brazil at the new Wembley Stadium in this morning friendly match.

David Beckham set up a goal for captain's John Terry to score in the 68th min. Unfortunately Brazil able to get an equaliser in the stoppage time. Haiz..no luck!
